Season Ticket Holders

I think I won wife of the year this past weekend! I have been scheeming to surprise Jared with season football tickets. Living in College Station it is a must to have tickets especially being both Aggie grads. Every time he would bring up how great tickets would be, I would shoot him down saying they were too expensive. But little did he know I was planning on getting him tickets the whole time! I had planned to go through the Lettermen's Associtation to get tickets, but they sell out fast! Good to know for next year...I won't drag my feet! We are sitting on the West side in the curve. I hope they will have a good view! If you blow up the picture Jared is pointing to our section.

After I placed the order, I made Jared a mock Aggie Ticket! It was fun to play around with the clip art! I drove him to the stadium to give him his ticket. Luckily the stadium gates were unlocked so we could snap this picture. Hopefully the Aggies will have another great season! Jared won't quite know what to do with himself.... 7 Aggie home games plus Texas is a home game all in 1 year!! Jared and I attended the A&M vs. TU game in 2005!

Last Wednesday our good friends from church had their little boy, Benjamin! He is a sweetheart! I got to see him again tonight when we brought them dinner! I'm sensing a newborn shoot soon!!

I'm Back

Wow well time has really gotten away from me to say the least! Jared and I have been SO very busy these last couple of months! We bought a house, moved out of Waco, moved into College Station, unpacked, took some trips, got in a wreck, had the flu, currently getting over pneumonia, so yea life has been kinda crazy! I'm still commutting between Waco and College Station. We will see if that will continue to next year or not. I have also been applying to just about every district around College Station, but it has to be the worst time to be looking for a teaching position. So far we love our new house and are looking forward to having some neighbors. Luckily the house next to us is going to house a young couple that just had a little girl. We are excited for them to move in and have some neighbors. I am really looking forward to June 3, the last day of school!! Yes I love my job, but i'm ready to spend some real time with Jared, Browning and our new house! I'm also looking forward to summer days by the POOL!!!

Coming to an End

Well it's been a fun time playing house at 10329 Sierra West. Another milestone has come into our lives. No longer are we first time home buyers but now first time sellers. The papers have been signed, and our house is official on the market! There will be a lock box on the house tomorrow and it can start being shown. The website should contain the pictures and write up on the house no later than Thursday! I went through the house today snapping pictures and reminiscing in every room. It is amazing all the projects we have endured in 2 years and 2 months. This house has been good to us, and we have enjoyed making it our home! It was pretty tough handing over the keys to the Realtor today. I pretty much teared up right in front of her! This whole move has been weighing on me recently. June is a long time away, and these weekend visit from Jared are too quick. Selling a house alone is tough! I have mixed emotions about when I want it to sell! I would love for the people who see our house to absolutely fall in love with it because I did! That would be comforting to know that we made good choices in our first home, our designs, and upgrades! But I don't want it to sell too soon because then my home is no longer! Either way we have the most gracious friends to offer up their spare bedrooms. Then I will be the one commuting on the weekends! HA! Our Realtor has nothing but compliments about our house (i know this is part of her job) , but it is still nice to hear! Hopefully Browning won't mind strangers into his home! He'll probably just greet them with a ball hoping for a strong arm and friend! Enjoy the pictures!

Guest Room Makeover!

For 2 years...yes the entire time we have lived here...I've been avoiding one of our guest rooms. The idea was to have a creamy country yellow....well that didn't exactly happen. It was a bright bright yellow that I never really warmed up to. Since the house is going to go on the market, I felt that other potential buyers would feel the same way. So back to Khaki it goes! It actually looks pretty good against the white wicker furniture which surprises me!! Maybe it's the bedding?!?! What I great buy I found on target.com!!! I bought it on a whim and LOVE it! Plus some new art work which fits in more with the decor around the house! One more project crossed off from the list! YEAH! Enjoy!

Bathroom Makeover 101

WOW do I have an amazing husband!! He's so talented! We have been wanting to update our guest bathroom since we moved into this house 2 years ago! Well the only thing we did was buy new towel holders and towels! Some things really come together when you know you have to sell your house! These last little details, that we always wanted to do, are now finished! For about $45.00 we gave our guest bath a nice update! Jared made all the cuts and sprayed the wood and the old fixture! Yes that was the old GOLD fixture!!! Who knew it would have been that big of a change!! We are so happy with the final product! Oh and we bought a new shower curtain!! LOVE IT!!!

Baylor Homecoming

This weekend has been all Baylor! You would think we both graduated from Baylor! Jared is so upset with A&M now...i think he was happy to support another school! Especially one that doesn't employee his wife any more!! HAHA! Last night we met up with our friends from church for dinner and then went to the bonfire! Woke up early...yes early on my one Saturday to not have school...to go to the parade. We grabbed a nutritious breakfast of kolaches and donuts and went to the parade with Browning in tow! He was so excited and sporting a Baylor t-shirt! Jared wore yellow and I was in green! Like I said...you would think we were Baylor grads! The parade was good, and then onto our last minute errands before the game! I made a 7 layer dip that was quite yummy and perfect for football tailgates! We went to our friends tailgate and then onto the game! Here is where we start to go down hill. With only like 2 minutes into the first quarter they delay the game due to weather! Well about an hour later the RAIN comes! It was a freakin monsoon! With everyone else trying to get under the stadium... Jared and I head for the field to get under the part where the football players run out! Yes we stormed the Baylor football field like crazed fans!! We get under this pavillion that is reserved for the "snooty" Baylor alum. We stay there for about 30 minutes than head back to our seats! We are now SOAKED and FREEZING! Guess what else happened...?!?! A cold front comes in...of course it does!! So we are WET and Cold...finally the game starts again..2.5 hours later! Right before half time it starts to rain again...by this time I calling it quits!! I had had enough...seeing how I didn't even go to Baylor in the first place! So now we are home...dry and in our lazy weekend clothes watching the school we actually both went to play KU! So far they are up, hopefully it will stay that way! Enjoy the pictures!

This weekend has been full of family time! We got to see my dad, Meghan, and Justin. It was good times all around! Well thank goodness it's not a water type splash! I have had enough of those to last me awhile! I'm talking back splash for the kitchen!! It is finished and looking fabulous! Jared and I are so pleased with how everything came out! Maybe just maybe it was meant to be!! Our house is practically brand new now! We absolutely love the floors, the tile are now are back splash!!!

Jared's parents came up this past weekend and had a MAJOR role in the facelift of our kitchen yet again!!! Jack did all the tile laying, jared did all the cute, Lori helped grab spacers, hand off tiles, and make sure the lines were straight, and I buttered....the TILE silly!! Yes you butter tile...with adhesive not butter so it will stick to the board and stay in place! I must say it came second nature to me!! It was quite the family project! It took about 6 hours on Sunday and Jared finished it up last night! Our kitchen is AMAZING!! We are so happy with the out come!!!

YEAh...the house is slowly getting back to normal. We have most of the furniture back in place, but we still need to put the washer and dryer back in and fill the china cabinet with china! Well I say we...but I mean Jared! hehe! It's nice to be able to get in the office now, get to our bedroom easily, see the floor in our bedroom, and watch tv on the couch! Oh the little things in life! Well we are VERY pleased with the outcome! We couldn't be happier with how the tile and floors look! They really update the house and look really good with our furniture and theme of our house! We have one small project left...the backsplash! Jared picked up the tile today and it looks great! Once that is completed we are going to take a BREAK from remodeling the house! I hope the dishwasher, washer, air conditioner, and hot water tank heard me!!!

Well it has been a busy 3 weeks! I can't believe 3 weeks of school is complete! This past week we had our open house! It went well. From a couple parents that came, they told me I was their child's favorite teacher and that they love coming to my class! That made my night!! Well then comes Friday morning...the day after open house...I had NO voice!! I not the world's biggest talker, and having to talk for about 13 hours straight did me in!!! I've never lost my voice like that!! NEVER!! I was very worried how I would get through the day without a voice! Kinda of a necessity for teachers!! Well each period I had another teacher to come in and give the spelling test! That was awesome! Did I mention how SWEET, NICE, GENEROUS, KIND, LOVING group of teachers I get to work with on a daily basis!?! Well if not they are AMAZING!! My classes were GREAT! They were so understanding of my lack of voice! They got their work finished, did great on their re take test, and were so quiet!! It was so cute, they would whisper me answers for their warm ups! It was sweet!

Progress reports go out on Tuesday...I think my email and voicemail will be flooded! Work has been keeping me very busy!! I feel a little disconnected right now with the outside world! I'm trying to catch up and get in a routine of some sorts! My classes are tying me up at nights and on Saturdays...they are the BIGGEST waste of time! I really wish they weren't such a waste and that I would get something more out of them! They are too expensive to be such a waste! But oh well...they are going to get me officially certified!!

I can't get over how fast time has gone by!! My 2 nieces and 1 nephew are all in school- Kindergarten and pre-school! A lot of "NEW" happening in our family in 2010!! Little William will be a year old next month!! WOW!! We will have lived in our 2 years next month--oh homeownerhsip!! January Jared and I will celebrate 3 years!! WOW! Time flies!!

WOW what a week! It's been a very exciting, thrilling, long hours, exhausting, overwhelming, stressful, wonderful, amazing, ok i could keep going but i'll end it with REWARDING! My kids are great! They make me smile, laugh, and almost lose my voice! I have over 150, yes you read correctly! They are great though!! So I have yet to post pictures of my classroom, the mess water can do to a house and some Mexico pictures! Yes i know i am a little behind! The first week started out with a fire drill in second period! Way to really stress out a first year teacher...30 kids in first periodand a fire drill in second! So the kids got out safely, i remembered my little bag, forgot my class roster! And being the first day, there is no way to know who is in your class, their name, what they look like! So yea that was fun! But hey the August fire drill is over! YEAH! So day 2...everything was going great...well as great as it could be being the second day of school and my second day of school...well up UNTIL about 10 minutes before the bell is supposed to ring to release the kids from school! POWER OUTAGE! JOY! Yes a storm blew in and lighting hit a transformer! So we have to keep the kids past the bell, in the dark, do I have a flashlight...NO (but i do now) So the kids stay about an extra 20 minutes, until we can release them to go home! Day 3....the smoothest day so far!! I am really enjoying teaching...but BOY am i TIRED!!

So Friday evening...Jared got home from Seattle, so we went to a nice dinner to celebrate his homecoming and me starting teaching. Well all was going so NICE...UNTIL....we got home! It was quite depressing to discovery our house was flooded!! Our laundry room, kitchen, living room, dining room and pantry flooded. So we spent the rest of the night and morning pulling up flooring, vacuuming up water, and pretty much LOOSING it! Disasters don't really bring out the best in us! Never did we mention in our vows...in wetness and dryness!!!! That clause might need to be added to future engaged couples!!! HAHA!!So after that whole mess we will have new floors throughout the whole house!! So we have been spending what free time we do have picking out tile and pergo! It will look really nice once it is in place!! Key words being...IN PLACE! Hopefully this "little" (HAHA) project will be completed by next week...is this possible?!?! Am i being a little too ambitious in this hope?!?! Probably so!

New Teacher Orientation!!

Oh my has this week been exciting!!! I started new teacher orientation this past Monday and finished today! I have met some really wonderful people in the district and on my campus! Today I met with my mentor teacher and she is just sly of FABULOUS! I'm really in a great district with very helpful and willing teachers, which is EXACTLY where I need to be starting my first year of teaching! I finally go into my room...yes FINALLY!! BUT I couldn't really do too much because it hadn't been cleaned yet. So hopefully tomorrow morning it will get cleaned and i can get some serious work done on it! I arranged my desk and the kids' desk...but i think i will have to change the kids' desk! It's very difficult to arrange 28-30 desk in one room with space to move around! But i do really like the set up i made for my self! The back of my car is full of TEACHER goodies!! I can't wait to unload them in my room! The district gave all new employees a stipend and new teachers in general a stipend to go by supplies! Well i went to the CUTEST store possible!! It had some great things that will look awesome in my class...pics to follow!! Next week the real work start with teacher orientation and PLANNING! I can't believe school will start a week from MONDAY! AWWW! Just a titch nervous! It will be great though!

Jared and I and our friend Holly just returned from Arkansas last Sunday. We had a great time skiing, boating, jet skiing, sewing, eating, looking at my parents new house, driving A LOT of driving and a little bit of sleep in there too! We saw Laura, Tom, Clara and little William in Missouri! We had a GREAT time! I will keep saying Little William so he won't grow up on me too fast like Clara has done! that will work, right?!? Well it's my plan for now!

We also enjoyed spending time with my parents and grand parents!! My mom worked very long and hard on my curtains for my room! They are without a doubt the CUTEST at Midway...ok ok i'm a little bias! My sister also made me some great letters for my classroom with her Cricut! I bought some really cute paper at Hobby Lobby and she had some great templates which makes for FABULOUS classroom letters!! I am itching to get them all laminated and hung up! Oh so much to do!!

Well I forgot to mention about Browning....Well Browning made the trip too! It was a memorable trip for him!! On Wednesday...the first day he got to go to the lake...some how he cut open his chest! It was a traumatic day to say the least! I might have slightly panicked...but this is my baby we are talking about...any mother would!!! Well he got stitches, staples, and a drainage tube! My poor baby boy! Well the drainage tube was supposed to stay in till Monday...well that came out a little early..on Friday! Staples come out next Wednesday..hopefully! So he was in a bit of pain for the remainder of the week!! Sorry no pics...too graphic!!!

Ok well after a long 3 days of being a teacher...i'm calling it a night! I think i need a bedtime of 9 maybe 9:30! Pics to follow!!!

Well not really...but i'm learning!! I have been making some more burp cloths! Jared's boss in Mississippi is expected a little girl! They are huge Alabama fans...so Bama Cloths they shall get! This weekend has been pretty eventful!! Friday was my last day at Baylor!! It was a great day! Saturday was well just BUSY! In the morning we went to our friends little boys 1st birthday party! It was a petting zoo! Then to a law school graduation party. Then i photographed another 1st birthday party...then out to dinner for Jared's birthday at Shoguns! It was delicious! Then church this morning, lunch, laundry, and packing! I'm exhausted! So now i'm resting up so I can drive 10 hours tomorrow to ARKANSAS! I'm so excited to get to see family! I didn't think this trip would happen this summer, but couldn't be more thrilled! I'll get to see my parents, grand parents, sister, brother, brother in law, niece, nephew, and Chelsea! Browning will be joining me in the car as well as my friend HOlly! We will have 10 hours to lesson planning, classroom management, and tips to help the drive go by faster!

Yes my tour through the Big 12 has come to an end! It was a good 8 years!! I can't believe it has been that long! There were many good times, memories and friendships! I will miss it, but can't wait to start teaching!!! I received my contract today and am so anxious to look over it and sign my life away!! I think there are about the same number of pages as when we signed the contract to our house! HA! I get fingerprinted on Saturday morning....getting closer! I just lack my little Midway ISD badge!! I'll need to get a fun little necklace clip, since i have to wear it 24/7 at school! So back to school I go! I just LOVE school! I have been going to school for 23 years..only a 1 year break from May 2008- August 2009!

Well this week I fell as if i am on a never ending roller coaster! I go up, down, around, upside down, stomach in knots....can you get a mental picture? Well maybe this will help?!!?
My housework this week has gone out the window, Browning needs to go on about a 5 miles run/walk and have the ball tossed to him about a 1000 times to make up for my lack of attention to him! But i'm hoping tonight i can some what make it up to him! Jared has been working second shift this week, so i haven't really seen him much since Monday. So needless to say i will be GLAD to be back on schedule next week.

On a side note... Jared and I along with some of our friends from our Sunday School class are going to float the river this weekend. We are all sharing a condo so we are both looking forward to a relaxing and fun weekend with friends. Luckily this year there is plenty of water in the river unlike last year hitting all the rocks with our tube! hehe! YEA for rain! It's funny we are taking 2 cars...one for the boys and one for the girls! Yes nothing much has changed since elementary school! Hopefully we will hit the outlet mall on the way home...just a thought! The girls car can go to the outlet and the boys car can go to Cabela's! I am 99.9% sure that is what will happen!

Jared has asked me sew him something!!! HEHE!! His boss's wife is pregnant and they are Alabama fans...so i'm seeing so more onsies and burp cloths in the future! I think she is having a girl so i'm excited to add some bows and cutsie things to the items! I found some cute BAMA fabric online and will probably be ordering that very soon! I'll post once I finish! Next week will be my first sewing class! Should be fun!

Are you confused by the title?!?! Well i am now in the business of making burp cloths for little babies! Thanks to my Mom and Dad for getting me a sewing machine for my birthday! HEHE!! Last night and well into the morning, I was learning how to sew! I wanted to make a cutsie burp cloth for some friends who are having babies/showers, and I have seen on blogs and etsy these cute burp rags and said "self i can make these!!" Well To my SURPRISE when my parents came into town last night they bought me a Janome 25th Anniversary machine! So since then i have been sewing up a storm! HA! It's been fun. So now when I have another baby shower to go to...I know what i'm bringing!! I am going to be nosy and spy on more blogs to get ideas for more cutsie little things! Enjoy the pics!!!

No No....i'm not having another party...YET! But guess who has a new color out?!?! FIESTAWARE!! I was pretty much drooling when I heard this news last night at small group! Another new color is out!!! Jared was just as excited as I was...i just KNOW it! heheh! It's color...paprika!! I haven't seen it in real life yet...i'm hoping it isn't too ...you know tu color! I don't know if that could step foot in our house!! BUT oh the excitement...it sure made my day!!!!

Yesterday was my 26th Birthday! It was a fun birthday! We had our Sunday School class over for a little party at the house! Jared got to smoke chicken for the first time with our neighbors big smoker and i made coleslaw, potato salad, salsa, queso, and THE chocolate cake! It was a fun and memorable day! I got a little tired waiting for the pictures to upload...now i'm waiting on dinner to finish cooking...so blog i go again! Here are some more pictures from our vacay to Mexico! We were surprised with how many Europeans we met on our trip! They were all so nice and just enjoying themselves as much as we were! We came home learning a little more Spanish and wishing we were fluent in at least another language! but our American system has failed us in that aspect and with the meter system as well! Well we are back from our vacation! A little tanner and missing the view of the beach, but glad to be back and i think Browning can vouch for that too! The resort was great! We felt like we were in the amazon almost! We saw monkeys, peacocks, lizards, and many more animals! The way the resort was set up you felt like you were in a canopy overlooking the wild life and greenery! The only rooms that had ac were the specialty restaurants and your personal room. The main eating areas, lobby, entertaining rooms were all open aired with thatched roofs. It was really neat the way they constructed the resort. It took a little to get used to the heat but once we did it was really nice! The pool was HUGE but a little warm! It had a swim up bar which was so cool! Literally, the water in it was so much cooler than any where else...well except the ocean! It was fun to sit in the bar stools in the water and sip on margaritas, Bahama mamas, and on occasional daiquiri! The beach was amazing! The sand was white, the beach was a beautiful turquoise and we were so happy to be on vacation!!

Well i'm jumping ahead a bit and going to say 3 more days! It's late and by the time most people will read this it will be true! I can't wait! I'm pretty much mentally packed...just have to actually put it all together in the suitcase! Jared is already packed! HA! you think he needs a vacation?!?! He's been working nights this week so it's just been me and the poop! Right now he is sound asleep! He had quite the play date today with our friends 7 month old lab! A 7 month old that is already over 75 pounds! He's going to be a big boy! But they played so WELL! They ran around in the back yard, shared a few licks, fought over toys...or rather tug a war! The brown bear is hmm how should i put this EXHAUSTED!!! He really hasn't moved since our friends left! Poor guy! It's hard hanging with those young'uns! hehe!

YEA for new glass as they say!! I'm so excited to be adding the 50 mm to my collection! It will be in my hands tomorrow! HOORAY! Just in time for MEXICO! My Friend that has been helping me is selling me his lens so he can up-grade! This lens increases your bokeh...blurriness in pictures...I know you are thinking why would you want a picture to be blurry?!? Well what it does is it focus on the subject and the remaining background gets this really cool blurred effect!
See in the picture the vase is in focus but the flower in the background is blurred! I didn't take this picture just found it on google images! So be looking for some nifty fifty prints! I can't wait!

The Weekend

The most coveted days of the week...SATURDAY and SUNDAY!!! So what have the Lowe's been up to so far this weekend...WORKING! YUP! Jared worked all day doing training stuff and I took a horse to the vet! Luckily mine was finished a lot sooner than I expected! YEAH! So the rest of the afternoon I spent napping on the couch and cleaning the house! Nothing like having a clean house for when the hubby came home! It was more of a spring cleaning...in the summer!

Well i'm happy to announce that my passport made it in the other day! YEAH! Now the vacation is more in sight! Actually only 7 days away...just 7!!! Oh how i know this next week is going to creep by and the vacation is going to FLY by! Why is that exactly!!?? Jared and I couldn't be more excited to be going to Mexico! 5 days on a beach and the resort grounds...HEAVEN! Don't worry I will take TONS of pictures!!! I want to make an album of our vacation! So i will be that person in the airport snapping pictures and YES jared will love it and be smiling in every single one of them! HEHE!

News?!?! No news to really speak of! Work has been keeping both Jared and I busy during the week and even on the weekends for Jared. He will have to work again this Saturday for training..BOO! But in 12 days we will be on the beach soaking up suns and having little drinks with umbrellas and fruit hanging from the side of the glass! We can't WAIT! I received an email today saying that my passport would be here on the 14th! WHEW! I know cutting it close! I meant to do it after we got married and NEVER would have believed that year would have gone by so FAST! and then the second...and half of the third!!! WOW has time flown by!

Well i guess i have some news...i planted some potato vine a couple weeks ago i guess it has been now...well it is really taking off! I must tell you....if you have no skills what so ever in the planting...gardening department...(that would be ME) this is the easiest stuff to grow!! You do NOTHING!!! You live in a hot place, hasn't rained in awhile, might forget to water after a few days...YUP it will grow! The garden out back looks really nice with it! OHOH and the magnolia tree keeps blooming! I think there has been like 5 blooms and there are a couple more on the verge! Well i never seemed to post pictures and both Jared and I...Finally have one thanks to Trista sending me this one below! This was taken at her going away dinner at George's! MMM George's! If you think Jared looks a little different...he does... work made him shave for HAZMAT training! HEHE! I like to think i'm a "Cougar"!! HAHA!! Robbing the cradle! Jared has such a cutie baby face!!

Summer Reading

AWW yes summer's without taking classes and being a college student well i know this has been a couple a summers but i've really enjoyed catching up on my reading! Nothing like a good book poolside with some nice shades catching a little sun! Well i'm at the good book part...hopefully the rest will fall into place at some point! HA! i just finished The Last Song by Nicholas Spark...aww so good! Nicholas really knows how to write a good one! Don't know if i want to see the movie or not...they are always a disappointment! But you always have the book to fall back on!

And for you sports fans...i read The Blind Side! Although i was not too familiar with foot plays and position...still a great book! i think Jared enjoyed explaining the plays and telling me that he used to use that in high school football! oh the memories!!
Now i am reading....Dear John...yet another Nicholas Sparks...see a pattern?!?
Another movie to see...or NOT?!?! This one is already available on DVD...Yes i'm a little behind!
I also want to read some of the new Jodi Piccoult books!

IT'S JUNE!

It's June....do you know what that means?!?! It's vacation month!!! YEAH! Jared and I are so excited! We haven't been on a vacation since our honeymoon...that was 2.5 years ago! So where are we going do you ask?!?! PLAYA DEL CARMEN! We are staying in an all inclusive resort...my first! Jared has been to a couple in Mexico and swears that is the way to go! Our trip is only 18 days away!!!

So 2 weeks from this Sunday we will be leaving! Glorious beaches...a FABULOUS resort...my honey by my side...i mean what more could you ask for! In the mean time we will be getting our packing list going and making sure we pack plenty of sunscreen, suits, and cutsie beach clothes!

The other day i picked these up for Jared! He looks so cute in them! And best of all he LIKED them too!! Now put that with a polo some boat shoes...my hubby will be fratted out! But not to worry he's not the popped collar kinda guy! HEHEH!

I picked up this cute little dress on the way home from the lake this past weekend! It's simple but a keeper!So needless to say we are ready to be beach bound! Until then we will just dream about being on the beach!

This past weekend Jared and I went CAMPING at Lake Summerville! Let me tell you...it was quite the experience! It was about 95 degrees during the day and about 80 at night...can we say HOT! Jared, Browning and I shared a queen size blow up mattress that just barely fit in the tent that Jared INSISTED on bringing...can we say tight quarters!!!! Everyone thought it was hilarous and CRAZY! I can't blame them..but i was the one that got to sleep in it! LUCK ME! but really we had a good time playing in the lake, boating and i even got to do a little skiing! THANKS WILLIS FAMILY!! We had a good time! I didn't take too many pics..go figure! But i did get a good one of Jared! Ok so it was Brandon's mom birthday!! THE BIG 50...i mean 25th...hehe! Well the kids all got together and blew up balloons and bought some granny panties....i've never seen panties so big!!! Well my wonderful husband found a good use for them...Hence the picture below! But I love him!!

Well as school is about to wrap up for the year, Brook Ave had a mentor picnic today with hamburgers, chips, snow cones, cookies, All the supplies for a GREAT picnic! The only thing that would have made is the GREATEST picnic if it was like 75 degrees outside instead of 90! A titch on the hot side! We had a great time though! My student passed all of her TAKS test!! YEA! I've really enjoyed getting to know her this year! She is such a sweet person! They have really transformed the yard and the backyard is getting quite the make over too! They ripped out the fence that used to keep Beau in the back yard and are in the process of making like flower type boxes like a stair step effect!

Yes i have been a bad blogger recently...life kinda has been preoccupying my time lately...I was hoping to post some exciting news, but that will have to be delayed for another post some day! So what's been going on in the Lowe household lately you ask....well....let's see Jared's sister, Meghan, graduated from A&M the other week! My parents made the trek from AR to see it and spend some time with Jared and myself! I must brag on them for just a sec! They are on a special diet and doing GREAT! I'm really proud of you guys!! The next time I see you, I probably won't even recognize the 2 of you!!! So after the graduation weekend, we have been just kinda busy. Nothing really in particular, it just seem the hours pass by and a new day is upon us! I have some pic to post, but since i am at work i don't have the camera here to download! YES that is on my to do list! Not too important...but our magnolia tree that we planted oh like a year ago...has had not just 1 but 2 blooms!( I have pictures of said bloom) We are pretty excited about this little miracle! See the tree made the trek from Kingwood to Waco in the back of Jared's truck! Word to the wise...don't transport trees cross country!!!! BUT it is doing good and growing tall!!! I'm hoping for a few more blooms this summer! Also, other happenings in the back yard..yesterday i planted some potato vine! It's kinda a lime green leaf see below
So that is now planted in the flower bed in the back yard! It looks nice and fills in some of the holes we had from the other flowers dying...yes i lost a few...tear! Let's see what else in new with the Lowe's....Jared is playing softball with the church and his work! Monday and Thursday you can find Jared out in the field or up to bat! I'll post some pictures from that later too!

This weekend Jared and I will travel back to Houston! Always on the go! Sunday i'm taking a photography workshop from the Lindsay, she did our wedding! I'm really excited to learn more about my camera and taking good pics!

Photo Shoot update....well i have 1 scheduled for May 29 on Baylor's campus! yea for a new spot! Craigslist has been pretty good to me, but i'm thinking about making a photography blog! Jared thinks i need business cards too! He's my marketing director! Still trying to come of up a good name?!?! Any thoughts?!?!

No i'm not the Pioneer Woman....but i do love her recipes! If you haven't been introduced go to http://thepioneerwoman.com Well last night I experimented with one of her EASY recipes. Tonight maybe a different story with an intermediate recipe! But any ways back to last night. I cooked dinner for some friends that just had a little baby girl, Aubrey. I took her pictures a couple weeks ago! Well it was our night to bring them dinner. Since work likes to keep me forever in the evenings...i was a little worried if i could pull off a dinner and delivery in an hour! Yes me and my short time span! I was originally hoping to make chicken enchiladas...but that intermediate level tag and the time it took...i opted for the easy recipe! Luckily I had bought both ingredients so i didn't have to make an extra trip to the store. So if you are in need of a quick and tasty meal, might i recommend the spaghetti with artichoke hearts and tomatoes! Sounds fancy doesn't it! But ooooo so easy!! I gave Jared a taster before leaving the house....his response...WOW this is so good and it smells so good! YEA gold star for me! Now tonight i'm going to try that intermediate recipe....Wish me luck!! Thankfully there are no pecans in it to sink!

Well today we are getting a new roof! YEA! It will probably take all of today and some of tomorrow for it to be completed! It's funny now what we look forward to...yea new shingles! It will not only be beneficial to prevent leaks...but this new kinda of shingle will help update our house too! All the newer home in the neighborhood have this type of shingles! So this weekend Jared and I decided to extend the flower bed a bit around the kitchen to the back of the house! We also fluffed up our patio area with some potted plants! YEAH for spring! On the way back to Waco, I took some pictures of Meghan around A&M's campus. I can't believe how it has changed in just a short amount of time. Here are a few from today! Even with all the new it's still had it's "Aggie" feel all over the campus!

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! We spent the weekend in Sugar Land with Jared's Family! We got to see pretty much everyone! Grandparents, cousins, second cousins, sister, parents! It's nice when everyone can live near by! Oh and because i know you are anxiously waiting to hear....Our microwave is back in working order! YEAH. Jared's grandfather, Tom Lowe, works at Lowe's...and hooked as up with the part we needed!

Yes...Baylor won the Big 12 Equestrian Championship! It was a whirlwind weekend...actually the week as well! I am ready for some time off...but we have nationals in less than 3 weeks! I wish we had summer's off! Friday we beat OSU to play A&M on Saturday! All my schools in one weekend! The girls rode great and couldn't be more excited about their wins!

**NEWS** I have 2 possibly 3 photo shoots next week! I can't wait. Friday i am going to photograph one of my friends little boy! He's about 8 months old. Then Meghan's at Texas A&M and maybe one of my friends friend that wanted a family picture! YEAH! I haven't had time to use my camera much in the past week or so...TEAR! So i will make up for that time off this week! It will be fun and full of blogging i am sure! Friday night we are going to leave for Sugar Land to spend Easter weekend with Jared's family.

Well this afternoon I attended our friends, Will and Ashleigh's wedding! It was a lot of fun! We know them through our church and they were in our small group. Ashleigh is a high school teacher at Midway and Will is finishing up school. They are a fun couple to be around! The wedding was lovely and our table at the reception was filled with couples from church! Jared didn't end up making it back in time...his flight from DFW to Waco was canceled twice! Well it looks like spring is in the air! I captured these after i finally got home today! It always seems like something catastrophic happens on Friday afternoons just when you think you will be getting home a few minutes early! So today one of my favs decides to colic on me....so a bit late tonight to get home! But no worries dinner was perfectly warm and cooking in the crock pot! Thanks for the new recipe mom! Here are a few pictures from today down at the river. Jared caught one rainbow trout and had to cut his fishing a little short because of the generators~ My mom and dad discovered some exciting news today...and by DISCOVER i mean they really stumbled upon something great...Curious?!?! Well just so happens that they found their house in Flippin today. It was crazy! We were just driving around looking for this one house that for sale and around the corner was a brand new...still kinda a work in progress...but it's their house!!! We took a tour of the house and the owner is a builder! HA the luck! We are going back tomorrow to look at again and i will snap some pictures this time! My parents are so excited! My dad just lit up when he saw this house! Someone was looking out for us today! Enjoy the pics!

Yesterday afternoon Jared, Browning and myself went to downtown Waco by the river! It was a nice peaceful day...a little sun and blue in the sky. A great afternoon to catch some pictures! Browning enjoyed himself immensely. There were all kinds of new smells and DUCKS to keep him occupied! I got some good shots...well at least i think so! Jared got in on the action as well! He really enjoyed using the zoom lens to get some pictures of the ducks in the river! Browning really just wanted to go swim with them...what a challenge to keep him out of the river! Well I had just finished my post...when the computer shut off! Wonderful timing! So i will try to rewrite what i already said once! So tonight, since the weather is so gloomy, rainy, and COLD...i had to take my creative side inside! Jared officially thinks I am nuts...but then again he did marry me!! So tonight i have spent the night trying to rearrange things in the house and try to make Browning less afraid of the new camera! Did i hit the creative mark?!?

Well today was an exciting day! The morning was a little stressful but my afternoon made up for it! I got my first Canon lesson this afternoon and then played with the camera in downtown Waco. I didn't have anybody with me...so i had to make do with the scenery. I used both lenses to see just what they could do! The zoom lens is AWESOME!! I can't wait to bring that to the deer stand or on the beach!!!

I got this yesterday!!! I'm so excited! I have my first lesson tomorrow at 2:00! One of the girls on the team, her boyfriend works for Baylor Photography!!! I can't wait! The others are of our crazy dog and his obsession with our bed!! Yes he has found that her prefers our bed to anything else. And if can get the opportunity to sneak beneath the covers you won't hear a peep from him the rest of the night! Enjoy...and be ready for LOTS of pictures in the future! I have my first "shoot" with some good friends of ours soon! YEAH!

OH i got the Canon Rebel XS with the 18-55 and 75-300 lens! and a list of places i want to shoot at around WACO!!

Winter Wonderland...in WaCo??

Well today was an unusual day in Waco, TX! Jared found out yesterday that the plant was going to be closed for today....i went to work this morning as usual and drove in a thick snow to get to the barn! I worked for a few hours and then Baylor sent out an email to say they were closing early! YEAH SNOW DAYS! So Jared and I grabbed some lunch, played in the snow, took some pics and videos! Yea we are pretty young at heart! IT's supposed to snow all day! 6 inches of snow is going to be falling on Waco today! CRAZY! It has been pretty steady all day long! It's really beautiful to watch it come down! And come down it is!!!! If only i had some snow skis or a sled!!!! I need Laura and Tom's mule to pull a sled behind! I would be the coolest neighbor for all the kiddos around here! Enjoy the pics!

Well Brent, Melissa, Hannah and Jake came to Waco today! We had a packed full day of cheer camp, going to see horses, basketball game, and some more cheering! A Diaper cake is a decorative piece that is a hit at all baby showers i have been to! What you do is take diapers and line them up to make circle. You can do layers like the one shown. Then you wrap snuggly blankets around it and tuck in pacifiers, sippy cups, toys, baby stuff as little ornaments. That's a diaper cake!

Yes I did it...I hosted my first baby shower! I think it went really well! I met Lucy, our mommy to be, at church. Her and her husband Jimmy used to be in our small group until our classes split! Lucy is such a sweet heart! She is going to be a great mommy to little Aubrey! She is due in about in late March! We had a ton of food, gifts and PINK to honor her little bundle of joy! It was a lot of fun too...we played some baby shower games and enjoyed meeting her family and catching up with friends!

A couple weeks ago we went to Houston to celebrate Jared's Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary. We had brunch at Vargo's. The gardens around the restaurant are full of peacocks!!

This past weekend Jared went camping.

Can you guess what this is??? Hope you don't have to use the bathroom any time soon!! It's the guest bath! Surprisingly there is a twin mattress and box spring, headboard, dresser, night stand, bedding for 3 rooms, 2 chairs, and some odd closet storage boxes...yup all that fit in the bathroom!

The office...the blue kinda clashed with the maroon. So we decided to go ahead and put carpet in here!

Well t hat's all i got for right now. We got busy moving furniture into all the rooms. So tomorrow i will update with the transformation of the Lowe house!

Also what i love about new carpet...it makes your house smell like a new one!! LOVELY!!!

Well...i don't seemed to be very committed to blogging this year. I've been busy with school, work and putting on competitions at Baylor. Today is an exciting day for the Lowe household...it's new carpet day!! YEAH! i've been waiting for this for a little over a year now! our house is pretty much a wreck right now!! All the furniture is in the living room,kitchen, bathrooms, garage....it's a mess!! i will upload some picture later tonight or maybe tomorrow cause tonight i will be moving furniture again!

I host my first baby shower this Saturday! I'm looking forward to it. My friend Holly came over this past weekend to help me make some cute gifts for our mommy to be!
